The Harken riggers rope access winch can be supplied with a cordless drill adapter to be used in case of emergency to higher or lower the winch.

Design

Sculpted to remove excess weight and provide multiple attachment points, whilst maintaining strength. The rope guide ensures correct alignment and loading of the winch for maximum efficiency.

Winch

Aluminum 40.2 winch with 17- 4PH stainless steel load-carrying gears and pins for strength and durability. Unique drum design for maximum grip on the rope.

Fiber Rope

The winch is designed for use with fiber rope up to 12 mm (1/2″) in diameter, reducing weight and allowing alignment to the load. Smooth surfaces and chafe-free design are sympathetic to fiber rope.

Options

For use with multiple attachments depending on the environment and industry - from ratchet straps, M10 bolts, karabiners, to scaffold clamps.

Certification

CE certified under EN13157 (Machinery Directive) with a maximum working load up to 500 kg (1102.3lb) and a breaking load of 2800kg (6172 lb).

What is the maximum line operating length?

There is no maximum line length for use with the Riggers Winch. The length of rope you use is your only limitation.

Can the winch be fitted mid rope?

Yes, the pigtail allows the line to be installed without feeding the end of the line through.

What is the maximum diameter rope that can be used with the TopCrank Lokhead Rigging Winch 500?

The winch can be used 9-12mm kernmantle semi-static rope (EN1891).

Is the Riggers Winch suitable for human suspension?

Yes, but a back up device such as a Petzl ASAP needs to used to protect the person/s being lifted in the event of the failure of the winch. Or in technical speak:
In accordance with Directive 2009/104/EC persons may be lifted only by means of work equipment and accessories provided for that purpose. Without prejudice to Article 5 of Directive 89/391/EC, exceptionally, work equipment which is not specifically designed for the purpose of lifting persons may be used for that purpose, provided appropriate action has been taken to ensure safety in accordance with national legislation and/or practice providing for appropriate supervision.

What is the Breaking Load and Safe Working Load for the TopCrank Lokhead Rigging Winch 500?

Breaking load - 2800kg / SWL for goods lifting - 500kg to EN13157 Machinery directive/ SWL for tensioning - 500kg.

Is the kit supplied with the attachment fittings?

No. Attachments and fittings are dependent on operational use. 

Can I service my own Riggers Winch?

Yes. However, service and winch maintenance must be in accordance with the Harken service instructions and using Harken-approved replacement parts and consumables.

Which drill is recommended for use with the winch when purchased with the drill adapter?

Milwaukee Super Hawg - 18V Battery angle drill, 5Ahr & 9Ahr battery options.
Dewalt DCD460 - 18V drill with 60V Flexvolt battery offering 2Ahr at 60V or 9Ah at 20V.Makita DA4031 - 110V Powered Angle drill.

Gear rotation

The Harken Riggers Winch 500 has two gears, turning the handle anti clockwise gives the quicker rotation / high gear but less mechanical advantage. 13.5 mechanical advantage with a single rotation of 118mm. For a 1 meter lift the handle must be turned 9 rotations. Turning the handle clockwise gives a slower rotation / low gear but more mechanical advantage 39.9 mechanical advantage with a single rotation of 40mm. For a 1 meter lift the handle must be turned 25 rotations.
