Welcome to the Abaris International FAQs page - Please see below some of the frequently asked questions we are asked to do with our operations. The frequently asked technical questions can be found on our technical information page.

Can you produce a Proforma Invoice so we can raise a purchase order? - Yes. Simply email or call your potential order through and we will raise a proforma invoice for you.

Do you accept VAT Exemption Certificates? - Yes. In order to send goods out VAT Exempt we would need a copy of the certificate to be sent through to us.

I am an overseas customer and the website won't allow me to order, will you not ship to me? - We are more than happy to ship abroad but the cost of carriage depends upon both weight and volume so we cannot easily predict the cost. So you get the best value for money we ask that overseas customers who cannot order through the website for any reason contact us by email or phone with their potential order and we will give you our best quote for carriage.

I run a company in Europe and have a European VAT number, can I make a VAT free purchase? Yes, if you enter a valid VAT number then our system should then remove the VAT at check out. If this does not work for any reason then please email through your order and your VAT number and we will send you an invoice without VAT. Payment would need to be either by bank transfer or by card over the phone.  

Your postage costs seem a little high for the particular item/s I want to order - Please contact us and we may be able to put the item/s into the Royal Mail system which may be cheaper. Please be aware that this not be a next day service.

Do you hold much stock? - We believe we are one of the UKs biggest stockists of Petzl's technical access and rescue equipment and normally hold good stock of most of the other items which are shown on our website. We get deliveries of equipment from our suppliers very frequently (daily from Petzl) so if anything is not in stock then we generally can get our hands on it very quickly. For items with extended leadtime we will inform you as soon as we know and you have the choice of whether to wait or to have a refund.

What is the normal delivery time schedule? Items in stock will normally be delivered the very next day if ordered before our courier turns up in the afternoon (for time critical orders we recommend calling up to place the order).  Please note that couriers are third parties so whilst we put orders on a next day delivery service, this is not guaranteed. We cannot be held liable for any consequential loss caused by late delivery, or failure to deliver. If it is critical that the item gets to you next day, we recommend ringing us and paying for a timed delivery (pre-12 or Pre-9am). Orders are normally delivered within normal working hours 8am to 6pm but we have known the odd one to be delivered even later! If you are worried then please call us.  

What packaging do you use? - We generally ship items in boxes as alot of our products are for safety so need to be protected from bumps / drops enroute to you. If the items are soft products (such as slings) we may put them in tear resistant bag. We also try to be as environmentally friendly as possible and recycle packaging used by the manufacturers / distributors. Please inform us when you place the order if you are likely to take offence at recycled packing (we only use packing that has not be damaged in some way, it may just have signs of other labels).    

Can I collect my order?  - Yes, we have a small shop which is open Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm. If you need to buy or collect at a weekend then please call and we will endevour to open up for you.
