This Off-shore version has been tailored to the requirements of the Aberdeen Off-shore Group and  differs from the limited edition black in that the cam has been drilled with two holes allowing a choice of popper position (the 'popper' comes in the lower postion on the cam allowing the device to be towed more easily but this does potentially mean that the popper is harder to 'pop'). It also comes complete with extra tail with a loop on the non-towing end of the cord which can be attached to the karabiner securing it to the cowstail and is designed to reduce the risk of dropping). The ISC Red is primarily for use with a cowstail of up to 800mm (with karabiners) from the central waist attachment point of a harness, but can be attached to either the sternal or dorsal attachment points of a harness. 

After ongoing discussions regarding the karabiner loop attachment point, and specifically the related knot, it has been agreed to change the triple fisherman knot (current) to an overhand on a bight. 

The ISC red back up device has non-aggressive cams and a positively locking spring which means the device is 'self-parking' rather than 'self-tailing' like many rope grabs (it stays in position rather than drifting down the rope!).

- Using 'Rotational Braking' the more the device rotates clockwise the more friction is built up and this provides an automatic brake even in the event of a sudden pull on the cowstail (such as if there is a mainline failure in Rope Access).

- The Popper version of the device is a breakaway clip which provides a secondary attachment point for the tow cord and allows the user to tow the device directly downwards without unintentionally engaging the device's rotational braking system. However when the cord is pulled in a panic situation, the Popper clip releases under the force and the cord then works in conjunction with the rotational movement of the braking system.

Tested for a 2 person rescue - In rescue (up to 240Kg load), it is critical that the user limits the maximum fall distances to 300mm on 10.5mm ropes and 800mm on 11mm ropes (in theory if there was a potential for a fall factor of 2 then the maximum lanyard lengths should be 150mm on 10.5mm ropes and 400mm on 11mm - Longer lanyards up to the maximum stated are permissible if the user limits the fall distances to those already mentioned above).

Red Clearance Zone Information Sheet

Supplementary Information Sheet relating to working within the ‘clearance zone’. The clearance zone is generally defined as being the zone between the ground and the minimum height above which in a worst case scenario the user could fall but not hit the ground.

Delivery Schedule and Details

We pride ourselves on our rapid service and aim to despatch all orders promptly. The majority of our orders are sent out the same day as the order is received and delivered the next day (Dependent on the time of placement of your order and stock availability. Orders to the Highlands, Islands may be a two day delivery). For time-critical orders please call us so we can process the order as a matter of urgency and confirm the delivery schedule. We cannot be held liable for any consequential loss caused by late delivery, or failure to deliver.

You will receive an email or text on the day we dispatch your order informing you that it is enroute, and a further email or text at around 7:30am on the morning of the day of delivery, giving you a 1 hour window when your delivery will arrive.

Please allow slightly longer for the busier periods at Christmas and during the sales. All goods are subject to availability and in the event we are unable to supply your goods within thirty days you will be informed immediately and advised of the expected delivery date. Outstanding orders / items can be cancelled at any time. In instances where payment has already been made, an alternative or refund in full for the item(s) concerned will be given.

Free delivery offers are limited to mainland UK and do not generally include the Highlands, Islands etc.

Low delivery charge guarantee
If you get to the basket stage of the order process and feel that our delivery charge is too high, then simply contact us and we will look to reduce this, possibly by opting for a slower delivery service (normal deliveries are next day - except for the highlands, islands etc)

Delivery Address
Goods will be delivered, by our appointed carrier, to the address given by you on the order form. It is important that this address is accurate. In most instances the parcel will not be left without a signature. If you ask for your delivery to be left somewhere without a signature then this is done at your own risk, we will not be liable for the theft / loss of your package. Please provide us with a delivery address where the parcel can be signed for between the hours of 8:00am and 6:00pm. We are happy to arrange delivery to your place of work if this is convenient. We cannot be held liable for any consequential loss caused by late delivery or failure to deliver by our appointed carrier.

Postage Costs
You can view your postage cost at the My Basket stage by simply entering your delivery postcode and country into the calculate delivery cost section. Should any goods delivered by us being damaged in transit, deficient of items shown on the delivery note or failing to match the items ordered by you, then you must notify us within seven working days of receipt. If we receive no such notification, you will be deemed to have accepted the items as satisfactory.

Collecting from store
Items can be collected from our store anytime from Monday to Friday from 9am to 5pm (excluding Bank Holidays and Christmas / New Year shutdown). Please call us to confirm the day and time you would like to collect so we can have your items and paperwork ready for your arrival. Weekend Collections - We aim to be as flexible as possible and are normally available to open at weekends for anyone wishing to buy / collect equipment on a Saturday or Sunday (we will endevour to open the office, just call us to ensure it is possible on the day you wish).

Cancellation and Returns Policy

We hope you will be completely satisfied with every purchase made from Abaris International Ltd as we strive to offer you excellent quality, value and service at all times. Under the Consumer Protection (Distance Selling) Regulations 2000 you have a right to cancel your contract at any time up to 7 working days after the day of delivery for any unused item purchased from our website. This does not apply to any perishable goods; unsealed software or item personalised or made / ordered to your specification. For personal safety equipment please read Important Note below. This does not affect your statutory rights. 


To cancel or return goods please email us or write to us within 7 days of the delivery of the goods; our customer services team will then provide you with a returns code and our returns section address. You will be required to send the goods back to us in an unused condition with all labels, packaging and accessories enclosed.

Cancelling before you have received the goods
If you cancel before you have received the goods, we will refund the full cost including any delivery charges.

Cancelling after you have received the goods
If you cancel and have received the goods you must return them to us at your own expense and ensure that the goods are adequately packaged to protect against damage. If you fail to return the goods, we will collect them and will charge you for the direct cost of collection. If you fail to take reasonable care of the goods before they are returned to us, or have used insufficient packaging to return them to us and this results in damage or deterioration, we will charge you for the reduction in value or the full price if the damage makes the product un-sellable. We recommend that all items returned to us be sent recorded delivery with insurance paid as a minimum. Your local Post Office will be able to advise. Providing the goods are received back in an unused condition with all labels, packaging and accessories enclosed, you will receive a refund of the full cost minus any delivery charges within thirty days of your notice to cancel.

IMPORTANT NOTE: For personal safety equipment such as rope, harnesses, karabiners etc, we require the goods to be in an unused condition with all labels still attached and all packaging and accessories enclosed (we are bound by the Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at Work Regulations 1992 which require us to guarantee the quality, maintenance and storage of our safety products). If labels have been removed we cannot guarantee that the product has not been used and as such it becomes unsellable and we will have no other option than to charge you for it.

If you wish to return any item due to it being faulty, or if the items have been dispatched as ordered, but are unwanted due to their description on the website being incorrect or misleading, then please contact us and we will arrange for the item to be returned to us at our cost.
